Queens Historical Society invites California 6th Grade Students and Teachers to EGYPT DAY AT THE PYRAMID for an exciting day of "Culture and College" at California State University, Long Beach.  At the foot of the mega Walter Pyramid they will be transported to 1500 B.C. to witness Ancient World History COME ALIVE!  See a royal company of over 75 performing arts students in the play, "QUEENS OF THE NILE, NOW" staged to the music of world class composer and humanitarian, Stevie Wonder. 
 
ACADEMIC STANDARDS WILL COME ALIVE FOR 6TH GRADE ~ HISTORY (EGYPT / ANCIENT WORLD HISTORY) 

California Standards Addressed

6.2  EGYPT/KUSH:  Learn about the beginnings of early egyptian civilizations, societies, art and culture.

6.2  HATSHEPSUT:  Learn about Hatshepsut, a female pharaoh, and the leadership and respected role of women.

6.2  EGYPT ART AND ARCHITECTURE:  Learn about the trade expeditions, Kush and the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms of Egypt.

6.3  MONOTHEISTIC RELIGION:   Learn about Egyptian Architecture and Art (i.e. pyramids, temples, ceremonial dress - regalia.
